Considerado un factor hidratante natural ideal ampliamente utilizado en cosméticos, es adecuado para diferentes tipos de piel, climas y entornos. El tipo HMW tiene funciones como hidratación de liberación lenta, regeneración de la piel y efecto lubricante, forma una capa protectora densa y transpirable en la superficie de la piel y proporciona una gran experiencia sensorial.
Las pruebas demuestran que el hialuronato de sodio, también conocido como ácido hialurónico, tiene la mayor absorción de humedad a baja humedad relativa y la menor a alta humedad relativa en comparación con humectantes de uso común como la glicerina, el PCA sódico, el sorbitol, etc.
